Bailey HUNDO Blast Email #2 –  (Webpage version)  12/5/2012

Dear Bailey HUNDO Legacy Racer,

The 4th annual Bailey HUNDO is marked on my calendar with a BIG RED “X” – June 15, 2013. The Bailey HUNDO embraces numerous worthy traditions. One of our best: we yield first dibs on our limited registration spaces to you, last year’s steely race crew. Who’s in?

HUNDO Registration is open now and you should have received your legacy code last week. If you didn’t receive a code and raced last year, contact Brenda at [email protected].

Here are some details you’re gonna want to know:

Registration

For 2013 registration will continue to work as follows:

 – $25 Application/Entry fee is paid at registration (legacy and new applicants)

 – $250 Minimum amount raised to race (includes $25 application/entry fee)

 – For each additional increment of $250 raised (up to $1,000), racers will be eligible for additional premiums. Racers raising over $1,000 will receive other top prizes. More information to follow on those additional premiums and prizes.

Please note, all donations are non-refundable, and all proceeds further the dual mission of the Bailey HUNDO: improving biking opportunities for kids across Colorado, and improving the trail system in Bailey. We sincerely appreciate your support.

Registration Timeline:
 – November 27th – Registration open for legacy racers
 – December 17th – Registration open for all applicants
 – February 27th – Last Day for legacy racers to secure guaranteed spot in HUNDO
 – March 1st – Race Roster announced

Investment
We put on a heck of race and reserved funds to ensure our 2013 contest would raise the bar. After expenses and reserving funds for 2013, here’s where the rest of the funds have been invested by the HUNDO Board of Directors and Staff:

The objective of Bailey Conceptual Trails Plan is to transform the town into a national level mountain biking destination ( view mtb destinations ). This keen idea, connecting the trail-less town of Bailey to the surrounding network of spectacular trail systems, was the HUNDO’s founding big idea. In a few short years, with support of the mountain biking community, and constructive input from USFS and local landowners we have made progress toward making our big idea a reality. Harnessing the power of mountain bikers, Bailey could be the next Fruita-style transformation of a sleepy little, economically challenged community into a notable recreation destination. Please register now for the HUNDO, Chapter IV, and then do your best to raise funds to support our important mission.

Here’s what people are saying about Bailey’s potential to become a mountain biking hub:

Thank you to those of you who filled out the survey a couple weeks ago. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. If you would like to provide input you still can respond here.

Happy Holidays!
